Nickels have been made since 1866 whenever the Shield type nickel was placed into production. Type sets of nickels can be collected and a set put together somewhat inexpensively.

1883 No Cents Liberty Nickel PCGS MS62 PQ! This coin caught my eye, as these are still inexpensive for a type coin in the 1800s. The coin has minimal marks and carbon spots, so you would expect a 63 out of it. $75.

1936 D Buffalo Nickel ANACS MS65. Beautiful obverse with blues, yellows and lime with a golden reverse. Prettier in hand than in the picture. $110.00
1935 Buffalo Nickel. ANACS MS65. Beautiful bright coin with a touch of lite yellow. $95.

1938 D/S Buffalo Nickel NGC MS66. This coin is a BLAZER! I have owned original rolls of Buffalo nickels and Proof Buffalo nickels, but this is the "cream of the crop!" I would rather own this coin than a proof! $200.
1943 D Jefferson War Nickel. ANACS MS67. Slight blue and yellow rim tone. Close to full steps, with the bottom step not being full. $75.
